Fourth of July Media
Besides movies, music, and books, there is lots of other 4th of July media to help you celebrate the holiday.
Fourth of July Graphics
If you've ever tried to find good graphics online, you've undoubted been bombarded with popups, flashing lights, and link sites that lead to other link sites that lead to other link sites. We'll wade through the garbage for you.
Free Fourth of July Graphics
Holiday Graphics has a few free graphics. You will have to put up with lots of ads, loud, honkey tonk music and a kludgey interface to get it. But, hey, it's free (for personal use). Once you get there, scroll down to "Newest 4th of July Graphics" and "4th of July Graphics." Unfortunately, the interior pages aren't linked to one another. Notice that they also have 4th of July wallpaper.
Anne's Place has a few good images. Lots of them are really pixelized and amature-looking, but some are quite nice. Dig a bit to find what you like.
While I'd personally like to throw a sparkler at anyone who forces music on unsuspecting web site visitors, SoHo has posted some pretty fun images. These are all created with keyboard characters—the kind you could post in any text-only email. Some of quite complex. Fun!
Clips Ahoy is another ad-heavy site. You have to wade through pages of ads just to get to a few images per page. If you can tolerate that, it has some pretty good graphics, free of charge. Just click on the "Page 1," "Page 2," etc., links to find them.
The Uncle Sam Image Gallery has an interesting, eclectic mix of 4th of July graphic images to download.
Purchased Fourth of July Graphics
My favorite stock photo service is BigStockPhoto. They have over 2,000,000 photos that start at $1.00 for a larger image than competitors offer. They have nearly 3,000 4th of July graphic images to choose from. Beautiful quality.
In addition to my favorites, I found some other reputable, quality sites that may suit your needs. They are oriented more toward graphics than photos.
Clipart Connection has over 1 million images for one low price. They have clipart, web graphics, and illustrations. You pay for a specified time period (1 week, 1 month, 1 year) and download what you want. Bargain priced images. They have over 300 4th of July images.
For a bit more per month, you can have access to over 10,000,000 images! Clipart.com has the largest, royalty-free, subscription collection of clipart, photos, vinyl-ready images, Web graphics, illustrations, fonts and sounds offered on the web.
Next to automated sound and scrolling text, animated images and icons are a sure way to annoy your visitors. But if used very judiciously, they can be fun. Animation Factory has half a million animations, thousands of PowerPoint templates, and hundreds of resources for video productions. Great stuff if you know what you're doing!
Desktop Themes 4th of July
Like graphics, wallpaper and desktop themes sites can overwhelm you with ads and popups. But I was able to find a few sites that offered some nice 4th of July desktop themes without creating too much pain.
You'll have to endure pop-ups, but these 4th of July desktop themes cover a range of looks from fun and cutesy to Americana, to photo themes. My favorite it the American Flag Basket. Notice that clicking the "Next" link at the bottom of each page leads you to more pages.
4th of July Corner has a nice selection of 16 images on a nice clean site.
Scroll down below the ads to find more free 4th of July wallpaper images to download. Some of them come in multiple size.
